The Digital Owner is free to read. We pay for it through advertising, sponsorships and affiliate commissions. This page explains how that works, in line with the US Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255) and UK advertising rules.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission. The price you pay does not change.
Where an article contains affiliate links, we say so clearly near the top of the article, before the first link, and not only on this page.
Affiliate commissions never decide whether a product is included, how it is described or where it ranks. We do not accept payment for positive coverage.
Sponsored content
Sometimes a company pays us to publish content. When that happens:
- The content is labeled "Sponsored" or "Paid partnership with [company name]" at the top, where readers will see it before reading.
- The label is clear in size, contrast and placement.
- The sponsor is named.
- Sponsored content still follows our accuracy standards. We do not publish false or unsupported claims for anyone.
Display advertising
The site may show display ads. These are clearly separated from editorial content. Advertisers do not control or review our articles.
Free products and services
If a company gives us a product, service or free access to review, we disclose that in the article.
Reviews and testimonials
We do not publish fake reviews or testimonials, including AI-generated ones, and we do not present anyone as a customer or user who is not one.
Questions
If you think a disclosure is missing or unclear, email hello@thedigitalowner.com. We will review it and fix it if needed.
